About Me

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself
saying, Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner. I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as
it unfolds. Carl R. Rogers

Courtney Traber

Hi, I’m Courtney

I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Texas in 2017 after completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Baylor University. Since graduating, I have provided care within psychiatric inpatient, residential, and intensive outpatient environments.

These roles provided me with competencies in the treatment and care of individuals experiencing substance abuse issues, mood disturbances, acute and chronic suicidality, traumatic responses, and psychotic episodes. I have also received specialized experience and supervision in ACT, CBT, DBT, energetic and mindfulness approaches. I am also a provider of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Psychedelic Integration Therapy through Transcend Multimodality Ketamine Clinic in Austin; a highly specialized approach which utilizes psychedelics as an accelerant for therapy.

My approach to therapy is tailored to and shaped by each client I encounter. I appreciate the uniqueness and complexity of each client’s inner world, as well as the inherent dilemmas of just being human. I strive to meet you where you are, just as you are, and join with you as a fellow traveler in this journey of existence. My aim is to encourage your movement toward genuine self-understanding and a more authentic way of being.

Outside of the therapy room, you can typically find me enjoying live music, picnicking at the park, cross-stitching, exercising, or binge-watching Netflix
